Fall Mini Sessions

Updated: Nov 8, 2021

Happy Sunday everyone! This weeks blog post will not feature a senior or a wedding, instead I'll be sharing about my fall mini sessions from this year. Always the most popular time of year for photography, these mini sessions are perfect for me to ensure that I can fit in everyone wanting to book. I'm always prepared to work every single day in October, and this year was no exception. Most days filled up so fast in the summer that I decided to keep 2 dates open for fall mini sessions. I had two Sundays in both Pendleton County and the Shenandoah Valley full of gorgeous fall sessions with families, couples, and even seniors!

I had 9 sessions booked for my Harrisonburg sessions. Mostly families but also one senior and a few couples! I had the opportunity to photograph a lot of returning customers, whose families I have had the pleasure of growing throughout the years. My cousins, the Lam family, had their first session with their newest addition, a baby girl! I also got to photograph some kids that I have watched grow up throughout the years, and even though they are teenagers now I am thankful to be able to capture their genuine smiles! One family had multiple generations included in their photos and another one was doing photos to gift to their parents for Christmas. All of these families together made for a wonderful day of photos that I am hoping each of my clients will be able to cherish forever!

I chose to do the sessions this year at Purcell Park in Harrisonburg, which is a longstanding favorite location of mine in the fall. All of the trees there have beautiful fall colors and there are so many areas of the park that can be used for photos. My personal favorite is the walkway that goes through the whole park, because the trees line each side and give the perfect amount of shade and fall color! My clients also loved the pond with a fountain and the few bridges and fence lines, which I didn't use much during the mini sessions but always use whenever I do a full session at Purcell. I'm almost finished editing everyone's photos from the mini sessions and cannot wait to hear feedback from my clients when they receive their galleries! Perfect timing too, because in 2 weeks I will be starting my Christmas mini sessions, which are already booking up!

Thank you to all of my clients who booked a fall mini session this year! I had so much success with them that next year I am considering opening up one more date. I also still have Christmas mini spots available, so anyone wanting photos before the end of the year can look on my website to book one of those! Happy Sunday everyone and have a great week!
